Crush Rolls
New England Carbide manufacturers crush form rolls of tungsten carbide, boron carbide, and steel for use in dressing grinding wheels on all crush form grinding equipment, including Sheffield, Matrix, Royal Masters, Maegerle, Van Norman, Landis, Norton, Cincinnati, Do-All, Ex-Cell-O, Elbe, J&L, Blohm, Reishauer, and others.

New England Carbide's experienced operators perform all grinding from bore to finish form in our facility.  We use only premium carbide obtained from specially-selected vendors in the industry that can meet our specifications.  Our decades of experience enable us to provide the proper design and fabrication solution to meet the needs of our customers.
Forming Rolls/Turks Head Rolls
We manufacture custom forming rolls and Turks Head Rolls of various grades of tungsten carbide and steel.  Many of these forming rolls are used by manufacturers to form wire into specialty shapes.  Our rolls allow manufacturers to put intricate forms into their products, while holding tolerances as low as 50 millionths of an inch (.00005).  Our grinding expertise allows us to produce surfaces on our forming rolls with finishes ranging from 2 to 4 RA.
Thread Form Crush Rolls
Thread form crush rolls have annular grooves and are used to form or crush the grinding media (such as aluminum oxide, crush-dressable CBN, and crush-dressable diamond grinding wheels) that form threads on parts or tooling.  Our crush thread form rolls are manufactured from both tungsten carbide and high-speed steel with any thread specification, including UN, UNJ, UNR, metric, American, British Standard, ACME, and API, at pitches up to 240 teeth per inch (TPI). In addition to manufacturing thread forms on high-speed steel rolls ranging from 10 to 40 TPI that we exchange for customer's rolls to provide immediate turnaround on regrinds.
Qualifying Broaches
New England Carbide specializes in the manufacture of single-tooth tungsten carbide Dutchman broaches.  In cooperation with a Fortune 100 aircraft engine manufacturer, we designed a line of single-tooth broaches for qualifying the fir-tree shape on turbines in jet engines.  Our broaches are manufactured to full band maximum form contour with a minus .0002-inch (2 tenths) limit.  These broaches qualify forms in the special materials used in the manufacture of turbine engines, such as Unimet 720, Inconel, Waspalloy, Hastelloy, Incoloy and others.
Wear Parts
We are a precision manufacturer of wear parts in tungsten carbide, boron carbide and ceramic for both flat and rotary applications.  Drawing on our expertise gained from many years in the business, we can help our customers select the appropriate ultra-hard material, confirm the material will complement part design and optimize the part life, to ensure that our wear parts are successful and efficient in your application.
Custom Tooling
With our extensive engineering design experience and in-house grinding capabilities, we fabricate custom tungsten carbide and steel tooling for many of our customers.  These custom tools range from internal recess tools for the precision bearing industry, to dovetail and platform turning tools for aircraft engine builders, to nail dies for planetary rolling machines.  We enjoy helping our customers find client-specific solutions that solve their manufacturing problems.
